Growing up and prior to discovering asana, Marisa was always a yogi at heart. Long before studying yogic philosophy she believed in the interconnectedness of all life and felt empowered to spread that knowledge. Her yoga journey was born from the desire to explore that connection while building a community and enabling consistency in her physical life. She began her asana practice in her teens after stumbling into a class at her local gym and over the years since then she has become a dedicated student of Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga.
Marisa's classes are judgement free, creative, sweaty, and playful with a focus on anatomical alignment, mindful movement, the power of touch, and the fusion of mind and body through breath. Yoga is a well of peace, health and happiness and at the end of the day Marisa's ultimate goal as a teacher is to bring those gifts to her students.
She completed her 200-hour teacher training with Boston Yoga School and is currently in her 500-hour training under the same leadership. She remains forever grateful to her guides on this journey - especially Ame Wren, Brenna Matthews, David Vendetti, and Todd Skoglund - for showing her the way.
